HISTORY Of Faith
In August 1984, a group of people met at the Salem Lion's Club Barn. In this meeting they agreed to band together and form a church with a standard and believe the Bible as the inspired Word of God. The first official church service was held on August 24th at the Lion's Club Barn where the group continued to meet on Sunday and Wednesday nights. On September 2nd, Rev. Phillip G. Sanders accepted the position of Pastor. The first baptizing was held in the Ohio River at Carrsville, KY on September 30th.
The church started its first annual fourth of July celebration.
This has continued with crowds of several hundred attending.
In February, ten and one-half acres located three miles from Salem on US 60 East were purchased. In the spring, the men of the church built a brush arbor for special services on the new property. The first service was held on the church property in June. In October, construction began on the first phase of the church property.
The first church service was held in the new church building on October 4th, 1987.
Construction began on a church parsonage in January.
During May of 1993 a second phase of construction began on the church; an upstairs auditorium.
The first service held in the new upstairs auditorium was the Christmas play, “A Christian’s Christmas Carol”.
November 2005, the church purchased additional acres.
Waterfall and various building projects began in March 2006.
The new waterfall and pool were dedicated with a baptismal service in September of 2007.
